Is This Picture Real? How to Spot AI-Generated Images

Lately, you might have seen some incredible, almost too-good-to-be-true images circulating online. Maybe it's a breathtaking landscape, a futuristic city, or even a limited-edition Coca-Cola or Pepsi can with a never-before-seen design. Some images even showcase stunning handmade woodwork—like a beautifully carved Snoopy piece. If you're wondering, "Is this real?"—the answer might be no.

AI-Generated Images Are Everywhere

With advancements in artificial intelligence, it's easier than ever to create hyper-realistic images that never actually existed. Many of these images look convincing, and unfortunately, some people use them to mislead others. Whether it's for clicks, engagement, or even selling fake products, AI-generated images can be used in deceptive ways.

For example, you might see a picture of:

  • A Pepsi or Coca-Cola can with a rare design that doesn’t actually exist.

  • A wood-carved Snoopy that looks too perfect but was never actually made.

  • A Snoopy-shaped loaf of bread that looks like an artistic masterpiece but was never baked in real life.

These images spread fast, and some people even try to sell "exclusive" items that don’t exist in real life!

How to Check If an Image Is AI-Generated

Before believing or buying anything based on an image, take these simple steps:

  1. Look for the AI Info Tag – Many platforms now label AI-generated content. Check under the page name or in the image details for an "AI Info" notice. If you see it, the image was made by AI.

  2. Check the Details – AI-generated images often have strange inconsistencies, like missing fingers, unnatural lighting, or unrealistic textures.

  3. Reverse Image Search – Use Google Reverse Image Search or TinEye to see if the image has been flagged as AI-generated.

  4. Question the Source – If someone is trying to sell you something based on a questionable image, be cautious. Scammers often use AI images to create fake advertisements.

Don't Get Fooled!

If an image seems suspicious, always verify before sharing or purchasing anything related to it. AI technology is a great tool, but it's important to stay informed and protect yourself from misinformation.
